01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

Pouring your own glass from an extensive lineup of bottles is at the heart of the experience at SAKE MARKET Akihabaraten. The selection spans over 100 drinks centered on sake alongside shochu, fruit liqueurs, umeshu plum liqueur, and other spirits, all accessible through an easy-to-understand flat-rate tasting plan. Options include casual 30-minute and 90-minute packages as well as an untimed plan that allows you to take your time exploring different flavor profiles without watching the clock.

A notable highlight is the freedom to bring in your own food, with the exception of outside alcoholic beverages. Diners can pick up prepared dishes from department stores or delicatessens around Akihabara Station, share a spread with friends, or order food delivery directly to the premises. The shop also serves an affordable selection of bar bites—including plain dried firefly squid, iburigakko smoked pickled daikon, karashi renkon chips, duck pastrami, and torikawa ponzu (chicken skin with citrus soy sauce)—so dropping by empty-handed is never an issue.

Menu information also lists daytime drinking plans for weekends and public holidays, offering an easy way to unwind with drinks before sundown. Within the smoke-free space, guests can ask staff for tips on sweeter pours or unique liqueurs, exploring the nuances of Japanese drinks entirely at their own pace.
